Tenmile Ck Pilot Project Team

Patrick Higgins is the Managing Director of ERRP and has a 30 year history as a successful fisheries and watershed consultant.  Pat manages the ERRP team and also conducts Tenmile Creek basinwide monitoring of fish and water temperatures in coordination with local volunteers and land owners.  He also has placed timelapse cameras at more than 10 locations around the watershed to monitor flow conditions visually.

BioEngineering Associates has been the leading riparian restoration and erosion control firm in northwestern California for three decades.  Chief Bioengineer Evan Engber leads the team (at center in photo) and he is assisted by Philip Buehler (at right) and expert equipment operator Cameron Hill (l).  They have identified more than a dozen riparian restoration opportunities and gully erosion sites all over the basin.

Thomas Gast Associates Environmental Consulting (TGAEC) is a hydrologic consulting firm based in Arcata, CA that has measured flow at four locations and done modeling of Streeter and Big Rock Creek flows.  The flow of these creeks is being y are using compared to control stream Elder Creek to determine changes from historic conditions.

Anna Birkas is the owner of Village Ecosystems that strives to provide essential service for water design and construction, especially as it relates with energy, nutrients, and ecosystems.  She is applying herself in the Tenmile Creek pilot project to water conservation, best practices education, riparian restoration and identification and remediation of gully erosion sources.

Diane Higgins is the web designer and site builder for ERRP. She edits documents and does the fiscal management for the project.  Diane updates the our website and Facebook page to include information on the Tenmile Creek pilot project.

Hollie R. Hall is an Arcata, CA based consultant with an expertise in water rights, water permitting and conservation.  She is working with land owners in Streeter Creek and Big Rock Creek to increase water storage to allow forbearance from withdrawing creek water in summer. She is also working with TGAEC in calculation of the amount of water storage needed. Farmer Irene Engber is on the left.

Paul Trichilo is the ERRP map maker or spatial analyst with expertise in ArcGIS software.  He has provided maps for the Tenmile Creek pilot project team that help with watershed analysis. Paul is also is creating maps for reports, including the Tenmile Creek Conservation and Restoration Action Plan that is the culminating product of the project.
